Automatic checks No photo

Add a photo: your head size, eye height, pose, glasses, background and lighting are checked here, on your device.

What no tool can see

Use a photo taken in the last six months, never one from an earlier entry, with no filters, beauty apps or AI edits. Only cropping and resizing are safe.

Want every problem explained?

The free check counts the problems in your photo and answers. The $5 full review marks each one on your photo and tells you exactly how to fix it, with your passport, family and document checks in one printable report.

How the tool frames your photo

  1. It finds your face on your device and measures your chin, the top of your hair and your eye level.
  2. It crops the photo so your head fills about 60% of the height and your eyes sit about 62% from the bottom, inside the official bands of 50–69% and 56–69%.
  3. You can fine-tune the zoom and position; every check updates as you move the sliders.
  4. “Save 600 × 600 JPEG” saves the highest JPEG quality that fits within 240 KB.

If the photo needs more space around your head than it has, the added area is white: retake the photo from a little further away if that shows.

The official photo standard

  • Exactly 600 × 600 pixels, square, JPEG, 240 KB or less.
  • Head height 50–69% of the image; eyes 56–69% from the bottom.
  • In color, in focus, taken within the last six months, showing your current appearance.
  • Plain white or off-white background, even light, no shadows.
  • Facing the camera, neutral expression, both eyes open; no eyeglasses; no hat or head covering unless worn daily for religious reasons with the full face visible.

Questions

What size must a DV lottery photo be?

A square digital image of exactly 600 × 600 pixels, in JPEG format, no larger than 240 KB. The tool saves exactly this.

How big must my head be in the photo?

Your head, from the bottom of the chin to the top of the hair, must be 50–69% of the image height, and your eyes must sit 56–69% of the height from the bottom. The tool measures both on your device and frames the photo to fit.

Does the tool upload my photo?

No. The face measurement and the JPEG export run inside your browser. The measuring library is downloaded from a public code host, but your photo is never sent anywhere.

Can the tool fix the background or lighting?

No, and it should not: digitally changed photos can make an entry ineligible. Retake the photo against a plain white or off-white wall with even light on your face.

Is a photo that passes every check guaranteed to be accepted?

No. Automatic checks cannot confirm that the photo is recent, unedited or a true likeness. The U.S. government decides whether a photo meets its standards.
